How to Join the DBOA
Early registration for the 2010 - 2011 basketball season was extended through April 1, 2010. If registering on or after April 1, 2010, a late fee of $35 will be assessed (excluding new officials).
To become an official with the Dallas Basketball Officials Association:
STEP 1. Determine your officiating status.
- NEW: never officiated before or been affiliated with a professional basketball officiating organization in Texas
- RETURNING: must have been a previous DBOA member and in good standing
- TRANSFERRING: previously affiliated with a professional basketball officiating organization and must be in good standing
- REINSTATED: recently reinstated as a member in good standing with DBOA
- DUAL CHAPTER**: primary membership is with another UIL chapter, DBOA is secondary
** As a dual chapter member with DBOA as your secondary chapter, it is your responsibility to make sure you are fully aware of the policies of and your obligations to both chapters. If the DBOA is your primary chapter, regular membership policies apply.
STEP 2. Determine your fees. Make checks and money orders payable to the Dallas Basketball Officials Association or DBOA.

STEP 3. Complete the following documents:

For returning, transferring, reinstated, or dual chapter officials only.
STEP 4. Make copies of documents and form of payment for your records.
STEP 5. Mail the documents, dues, and fees to:
